We've developed several features that make your venue operations smoother whilst enhancing the ticket-buying experience for your audiences. Here's what we've built and why it matters for theatres, symphony orchestras, and other performing arts venues.

Calendar View Makes Event Selection Intuitive

We've introduced a month-view calendar that replaces the traditional scrolling lists of dates, making it much easier for customers to browse and select performances. This update particularly benefits venues running shows with multiple performances or regular programming.

When a date has three or more showtimes, customers see the actual performance times in a dropdown rather than having to guess what's available. This can be enabled for any event group within our event ticketing software, and disabled for special offers if you prefer the traditional date list approach.

The calendar remains visible even when customers are selecting seats, so they can easily switch between performance dates to find their preferred seats without starting the booking process again.

Streamlined Basket Management for Your Box Office Team

We've redesigned how our box office software handles complex orders with multiple tickets. Instead of displaying long lists of individual tickets, your staff can now group them by event, ticket type, price zone, section, or row - making it much easier to process subscription packages or multi-show purchases efficiently.

When grouped tickets have different details, the ticketing software shows a ≠ symbol, and your team can click to see the breakdown. If ticket types differ within a group, the dropdown shows blank and staff can view specifics by expanding the group. This creates a cleaner interface whilst maintaining full control when needed.

Enhanced Subscription Experience

We've made significant improvements for subscription customers - often your most valuable audience members. Fixed seat subscribers can now download one PDF or mobile wallet pass covering their entire subscription, rather than managing separate tickets for each show. Much more convenient for someone who's bought tickets to five different productions.

For venues where the same seat might be in different price zones across various shows, we've added custom colour coding with helpful tooltips. This helps subscribers understand the value they're receiving across different productions without confusion.

Subscription customers can also cancel their auto-renewals directly through their account pages, with proper confirmation processes and documentation for your box office.

Flexible Cancellation Fee Management

We've built a cancellation fee that adapts to how you want to operate. You can set fees as either flat rates or percentages of the order value, with different amounts for online versus box office transactions, calculated per order or per ticket - whatever works best for your venue.

The ticketing system is flexible enough to disable cancellation fees for specific events (perhaps you waive them for a show that gets moved) whilst keeping them active elsewhere. Online customers see any applicable fees clearly before they complete a refund.

Targeted Membership Options

We've developed age-restricted memberships, opening up opportunities for targeting specific demographics like young professionals or seniors. The event ticketing software validates ages against membership requirements and prompts customers to add birth dates when needed.

Better Integration and Data Control

These customer-facing improvements integrate seamlessly with Tixly's open API approach and enhanced system connectivity. Our improved CRM API delivers better customer data management, including detailed sales tracking and ticket scanning information. The API can both retrieve customer information and write data back, enabling integration with your CRM and marketing systems whilst also feeding sales information into business intelligence and analytics tools.
