Introducing Data warehouse: your ticketing data, your way

Data warehouse is now available. It gives your venue direct, secure access to its Tixly data in a dedicated, isolated environment, ready to connect to your business intelligence tools or query directly with SQL. It's a bridge between Tixly and your data ecosystem, helping you own your ticketing intelligence.

Team using data warehouse to access data reports

Why we built it

Data warehouse started with a request we kept hearing from larger clients. They had analysts, they had their own BI stacks, and they wanted their ticketing data available in the same place as everything else they work with, without a template in the way.

Building it as a separate, mirrored environment rather than opening up the live system was a deliberate decision. It means your analysts can run whatever they need against the warehouse, at whatever scale, without any of it touching the system your box office is selling on.

"This project began with our clients rather than with us. Several of our larger venues came to us with the same request: they had built capable data teams of their own, and they wanted their ticketing data available to work with directly, alongside everything else they hold. Data warehouse is our answer to that, and it reflects something we believe anyway, which is that a venue's data belongs to the venue."

Total analytical freedom

Your data belongs to your venue, and Data warehouse is built on that principle. Rather than working through a fixed set of templates, your team streams data into whatever analytical tools suit them. Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik and Excel are all common choices, but they're examples rather than a fixed list: if your organisation has a preferred platform, it connects directly. If your analysts would rather write SQL against the data, they can.

Three things make that work:

  • Secure isolation. Every organisation gets private access to database views containing all of its own data. Your data is never mixed with another venue's.

  • Open access. Connect your own BI tools, or query the data directly. Nothing changes about how your team works in Tixly day to day

  • Continuous sync. Production data is mirrored automatically, so your team is always analysing current data.

A centralised hub for your venue's data

The real value arrives when ticketing data meets everything else you hold, giving you a 360-degree view of your customers.

For marketing teams, that means blending purchase patterns with Facebook and Google Analytics to track what campaigns are genuinely returning, and what a ticket buyer actually costs to acquire. For development and membership teams, it means connecting CRM and fundraising data to ticketing history, so giving and attendance can finally be looked at together rather than in separate systems. And for anyone thinking further ahead, raw data can be streamed to your own external storage for long-term historical analysis, on your own terms.

What your team gains

The day-to-day difference is less manual work and more room to think.

Ticketing performance sits alongside the rest of your business intelligence, so decision-makers see the full picture of the venue in one place rather than assembling it by hand. Data flows where it needs to go without anyone exporting, reformatting or reconciling spreadsheets, which removes a whole category of human error along with the hours.

Beyond that, analysts get the granular detail for genuinely open-ended work: bespoke logic for subscription patterns across seasons, custom KPIs built to your organisation's goals, longitudinal audience questions traced over five years. That last one is where venues tend to find things they weren't looking for. How a subscriber base has shifted across seasons. Which first-time buyers became regulars, and what that journey looked like. What attendance does once you control for event type, price point or day of the week.

Getting set up

Setup is straightforward, and the division of responsibilities is clear from the start.

Tixly provisions your private access to the database views, builds the isolated cloud environment, and activates the mirroring workflows that keep it synced with production. Once the instance is ready, we issue your access credentials, which your organisation keeps confidential.

From there it's your environment. Your data team configures and maintains whichever BI software you're connecting, and builds your own analytical logic on top: the attribution tracking, the automated workflows, the KPIs specific to how your venue measures itself. That's the point of the product, and it's why it suits organisations that already have the capability in-house.

Built for scale and speed

Data warehouse runs on AWS cloud infrastructure, combining the reliability of Aurora MySQL with the processing power of SingleStore Flow. It's an environment built for exploratory work across large datasets rather than scheduled reporting.

Data warehouse suits organisations ready to own their data strategy: venues with an analyst or data team, larger organisations with sophisticated reporting needs, and multi-space cultural centres with active research or development functions.

It runs on a standardised agreement, which keeps the environment stable and predictable for your data team. Pricing is a transparent monthly fee based on your venue's activity.

Data warehouse is available now. Book a demo to talk through what your venue would need.
