Since Tixly opened operations in Norway in 2017, the growth has been steady and we’ve been fortunate enough to get the chance to work with many of the leading venues in the Nordics. Now, 7 years later we’ve established ourselves as the leader in the performing arts and culture sector, which is Tixly’s unique focus for our performing arts ticketing software.
We’ve recently partnered with two renowned venues in Norway, Det Norske Teatret & The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet. Both venues have had successful go-lives and are already up and operational using our innovative event ticketing system.
Det Norske Teatret
One of the new partners is the legendary Det Norske Teatret in Oslo, which is famous for celebrating Nynorsk - one of the two written forms of the Norwegian language, along with various Norwegian dialects. Since its establishment in 1912, it has played an integral role in shaping Norway's cultural heritage and through their work over the last century they have played a substantial role in strengthening Nynorsk through the performing arts. This unique focus has educated the public and engaged discussions throughout the years on language, identity and how to celebrate Norwegian culture.
One of their expertise is musical theater and some of the celebrated productions they’ve put on throughout the years include The Book of Mormon, Frozen and Cats. The theatre is located in the heart of Oslo and the building is one of the landmarks in the Norwegian capital and through its history Den Norske Teatret has been a platform for some of Norway’s most well known playwrights, actors and directors. It’s a versatile theatre that actively reaches out to the community and hosts educational programs, making it a beloved institution, not only in the artistic community but also among audiences attending their shows.
We are honoured to support Det Norske Teatret in its mission to showcase Norwegian culture and provide them with our industry leading box office software.
“We are grateful to get to work with such a historic venue as Det Norske Teatret is. They are synonymous with the history of Oslo and their unique focus on celebrating Nynorsk and Norwegian culture rhymes well with Tixly’s special focus on the performing arts and culture sector. A theatre of such status requires a powerful event ticketing system which offers flexibility and modern features, which Tixly’s ticketing platform truly offers. We’re very grateful for the trust everyone at Det Norske Teatret has shown us and we are excited to see where our collaboration will go in the future.”

The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet
The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet is the largest music and performing arts institution in the country, welcoming almost 350 000 guests every year, alongside being one of the most known buildings in the vibrant city of Oslo. They present opera, ballet and concerts of the highest caliber and consist of the National Ballet, the National Ballet UNG, the National Opera as well as the Opera Orchestra, the Opera Choir, the Children’s Choir and the Ballet School. The Norwegian Opera had their inaugranl performance in 1958 but the new building, which they currently reside in, was opened in 2008. Throughout their history they have placed an emphasis on showcasing operas and ballets created by Norwegian composers as well as further introducing Norwegian as a standard language for opera singers. The institution has become ingrained with Norwegian cultural history and has significantly contributed to the promotion of music and dance throughout the country and the value of culture in modern society.
The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet is a reputable and respected organisation and this partnership is a significant milestone for Tixly and we are grateful to get to provide them with our performing arts ticketing software.
“Last autumn, we launched a tender competition to select a new vendor for our ticketing system. We decided to partner with Tixly, a company providing key features that align well with our strategic goals of digitisation and process automation. Tixly presented a secure and modern solution, with rich functionality supported by modern integration mechanisms, and a user-friendly, intuitive interface to leverage the buying experience. We are pleased to be successfully operational on our new system and look forward to a close, collaborative relationship with Tixly to ensure further success in our ticket sales.”
