Immerse yourself in the milky blue, geothermal waters and enjoy a unique experience that you'll never forget. Take in the picturesque landscape of lava fields and rugged mountains as you relax and connect with other Tixly clients.
Icelandic Roadtrip
We are excited to offer you a chance to embark on a breathtaking road trip in Iceland, driving the renowned Golden Circle ending with a delicious, authentic local dinner. Explore the stunning landscapes of Iceland with a knowledgeable local guide, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Transportation
For those of you flying in, you will be landing in Keflavik Airport which is about 40 minutes from downtown Reykjavik. The transportation available is for example Flybus and Airport Direct.
Alternatively, you can also take a taxi but expect them to run at around 130 EUR one way for this journey.
Restaurants
We recommend Dineout for restaurant reservations. They offer an extremely user friendly platform where you can book tables at all of Iceland's most prominent restaurants in just a few steps.
Currency & Tipping
Iceland is very much a card based country, little cash is used so you will do perfectly fine with a debit and credit card. Certainly you can exchange if you prefer to carry cash, the best place to do so is outside of the airport as their exchange rates are a little bit higher. There is no tipping culture in Iceland - so there's no need to pay anything additional with your meal.
Weather
The average temperature in Iceland in May is a toasty 7°c, the average at the warmest part of the day is a surprisingly comfortable 10°c, with the average low being 4°c. The weather is very unpredictable, expect rain, sun, wind and cold - so pack accordingly and bring comfortable hiking boots if you are planning on any excursions outside the city.
Language
Most all Icelanders speak English so you don't need to spend any time on Google Translate.
