About Kulturhuset Stadsteatern
Kulturhuset Stadsteatern is a unique venue for cultural events, but also an important space for conversation and reflection on contemporary issues. A wide range of talks, debates, performances, exhibitions and events in different genres take place all year round. It is one of Sweden's most visited cultural institutions with around 3 million visitors annually.
Kulturhuset Stadsteatern at Sergels torg has ten different stages for performing arts, concerts, talks and debates: Stora scenen, Klarascenen, Lilla scenen, Hörsalen, Studion, Lilla studion, Kilen, Kafé Klara and Marionetteatern. There is also the state-of-the-art Klarabiografen, five libraries for different target groups: Rum för Barn, TioTretton, Lava, Kulturbiblioteket and Serieteket, and two galleries for exhibitions: Galleri 3 and 5.
Kulturhuset Stadsteatern Wanted to Replace Their Ticket System Without Losing Functionality
For decades Kulturhuset Stadsteatern have used their own developed solution including not only a ticket system but also internal personnel systems and other tools used throughout the organization. Having everything developed in house made it possible to tailor made the integration across all systems. As time passed, the house realised that in order to keep up with the market and technology changes, the ticket system needed a big update and the need for a new solution started to grow. In the end it was inevitable that they needed to change to a new system.
One of the biggest challenges was that the ticket system has to connect to existing internal and external systems including: CRM, finance, reporting, salary and personnel systems. The complexity of this task led to Kulturhuset Stadsteater - as opposed to developing completely new software in house - appointing Tixly as their new ticket system supplier.
From Self-Hosted to SaaS
Going from a in house hosted system based on older technology to a SaaS solution resulted in more flexibility, stronger integrations and better streamlined processes throughout the whole organization. Updated and automated workflows for employee handling using the Tixly API has led to fewer manual processes and in the end many saved hours freed up for other tasks. Using updated IT standards when it comes to ticketing and related services have made maintenance and development much more effective. It has also offered the in house development department the time and technology to focus on updating in house built systems and integration to newer modern versions.
And maybe most importantly, changing to Tixly has given Kulturhuset Stadsteatern a much more modern system in their daily operations resulting in time savings and higher reliability.
