More Than a Year in the Making
The journey to this moment began over two years ago with our first system demonstration, followed by contract signing more than a year back. The Konzerthaus team understood that choosing the right performing arts ticketing software wasn't a decision to rush, especially for a venue of their calibre.
Since 1913, the Wiener Konzerthaus has been Vienna's cultural cornerstone, hosting over 800 events annually for half a million visitors across its four distinctive halls. From classical symphonies in the acoustically excellent Großer Saal to innovative performances in the contemporary Berio-Saal, this venue demands event ticketing solutions that can handle incredible diversity and scale.
A Migration with Cultural Significance
For this complex migration, we deployed a dedicated team to Vienna, including our DACH-based experts, developers, and even our founders Sindri and Björn. These intricate data migrations are one of our specialities, seamlessly transferring years of ticketing history from legacy systems into our modern platform without compromising the quality of your venue’s data.
The timing couldn't have been more poetic. Our go-live coincided with Sigur Rós performing at the venue, giving our team the chance to attend the concert. Watching one of Iceland's most celebrated musical exports perform in a venue now powered by ticketing technology founded in Iceland felt like a beautiful full-circle moment that perfectly captured why we're passionate about supporting cultural institutions.
Built for Cultural Complexity
What makes this partnership particularly meaningful is how it demonstrates our platform's ability to handle the complex operational needs of world-class cultural institutions. The Wiener Konzerthaus doesn't just need box office software - they need a system that can manage everything from intimate chamber music recitals to large-scale international festivals like Wien Modern and Resonanzen.
"We are incredibly honoured to partner with the Wiener Konzerthaus, an institution that has been at the heart of Vienna's cultural scene for over a century. This collaboration not only strengthens our presence in the DACH region but also allows us to contribute to the legacy of one of the world's most prestigious concert halls."

The Tixly Difference in Action
What set this project apart was the exceptional preparation from the Konzerthaus team. When both sides are thoroughly prepared, these complex transitions become opportunities to showcase what modern ticketing can achieve. Their diverse programming, spanning classical traditions to cutting-edge contemporary performances, required flexible theatre ticketing software that could adapt to any event format while maintaining the premium experience their audiences expect.
The venue's unique architectural blend of historicist and Secessionist styles mirrors something we deeply understand: respecting tradition whilst embracing innovation. Their commitment to both classical heritage and modern creativity aligns perfectly with our approach to performing arts ticketing.
Strengthening Cultural Connections
This partnership represents more than geographical expansion, it's about supporting institutions that make culture accessible to communities. When venues like the Wiener Konzerthaus can focus on curating exceptional artistic experiences rather than wrestling with outdated ticketing systems, everyone wins.
The Konzerthaus team have been exceptional partners throughout this entire process. Their thorough preparation, clear communication, and shared commitment to excellence made this complex migration feel seamless. These are the partnerships that remind us why we're dedicated to the cultural sector.
